I don’t think a family gathering has gone by that I haven’t thought about you Dad or that the kids haven’t talked about grandpa. We might be talking about how you would have been cracking up about something that happened, or it might just be talking about you sleeping in your chair. I think about the excitement you always had when you opened your Christmas presents. You were just as much fun to watch as the kids. This Christmas your 3-wheeler was run a lot. Yes, it is still running. Sometimes I will say, “alright Dad let this thing start up already”, but it is running up and down the trail. At one time it had four kids on it. Dillon said it was smoking when he went to put it away. I should have told him to be careful that you were watching him. Of course someone had to fall off of it, but Lia just laughed about it. At least this time she was laughing. It is fun to look out the window and see them laughing and having a great time. Both of my kids have such great memories involving that 3-wheeler and you. I am glad that they can make new memories with the 3-wheeler and not just be sad that you are not here to give them rides. I know that sometimes you are looking down telling them to slow down or to quit making that front tire pop up, but we both know you liked to have fun on it too. Remember the time the DNR caught you and the boys riding back in the boulevard without your ORV stickers on the 3-wheelers. Man, you were not happy. I am glad that Mom decided to have the 3-wheeler added to the design of the house and yard on your headstone. So many memories and so many more to be made. Now do what you need to do up there to keep that thing running for many more years.
