Purpose is something we discuss a lot in my home. Now that my children are 11 and 14, we have some deep real talks. I do not feel that at 11 and 14 they should truly know what it is they want to do in life, but I think they can start to think about their purpose. I believe even at the age they are at they do have a purpose right now that they can only fulfill. Do you believe that friends? Do you believe that if you don’t complete your calling, your purpose that there is something that will be not complete in this world? If you are faith-filled you know that God has a purpose for you. He has a unique purpose that only you can fulfill. I hope and pray that 2021 will bring clarity to that God-given purpose.
One thing that I have discussed with my children on more than one occasion is how we (as human beings) are the only creatures that God allowed to have an impact on their individual purpose. What I mean by that is when God created the trees the trees do not have a mind to question what their purpose is. The tree is planted and it is just determined to grow. The same goes for an animal. A dog is a dog and a sea turtle is a sea turtle. They cannot change their purpose. A sea turtle cannot decide to be an elephant. When the sea turtle hatches it is determined to get to the tide to be washed out to the ocean. Even that baby sea turtle knows what it needs to do. Hopefully it is not swooped up by a sea gull or a vulture before it makes it to the tide. We as humans though can make choices and decisions that alter our purpose many times throughout our life. Sometimes the choices make us drift further from our true calling and sometimes it is through these choices that we gain clarity. Some of us will have many more chapters in our book of life before we figure out our purpose. Some of us figure it out right out of the gate. For some of us, our purpose may change throughout our years. However, you come about it just know you have a unique purpose. You were given unique gifts and talents to complete that purpose. Believe that! For my family and friends who are reading this blog, know that there is a plan for you. There is a purpose for Kylie that only Kylie can complete. There is a purpose for Renee that only Renee can fulfill. There is a purpose for Leah that only Leah can complete, and by doing so you will make an impact. Now I cannot list everyone’s name who may read this blog, but know you were created for a unique purpose and to make the mark on this world that only can make. Again, I hope and pray you gain clarity on that purpose and don’t take for granted that God created us with the ability to make choices.
