What’s on your schedule?

This post is for my goal-oriented friends out there or those who want to be goal-oriented in 2021. How many of you are already starting to think about 2021? I know a lot of us are ready for 2020 to be done and are ready for new adventures. However, how many of you have a day or two scheduled to plan for 2021? I know it is only the 16th of December and we have half of the month left; but if you don’t schedule a planning day, your days may fill up. Or you may just think, oh I will do that tomorrow. So many of us shut down in the holiday season (and we do need that time), and we don’t take the time to actually reflect and plan until maybe the 3rd of January. Instead we find movies to binge on or a Netflix show, and you can do that as long as you have your planning day scheduled. I would recommend your planning day to be after Christmas, but before December 30th. Schedule 4-5 hours to reflect on the past year, to focus on what you did well, and to focus on what you would like to change. In that time you can make your desires list for 2021. Once you have your desires list made, then ask yourself what would make you feel the most joy if you only accomplished that in 2021. Yes, I want you only to pick one. Maybe you can even pick “one word” that will help you keep your focus on that one thing. However, the first step is to schedule the time. Schedule the day and the time on your phone and if you are “old school” like me actually write it in your 2020 planner. Please friends don’t wait until New Years Eve or New Years Day to plan for 2021. Let’s have a jump start on 2021. By December 30th have your one desire selected and then start breaking it down into small wins. What can you accomplish by January 15th, 2021? Benjamin Franklin said it well, “if you fail to plan, you are planning to fail”.
